Mike & Sue's visit

We joined Inspiration at Old Bahama Bay, West End on Grand Bahama island but were stuck there for three days whilst a storm blew through. We had fun though as spent the time catching up on all the news from SA moored safely in the harbour.

When the weather cleared we sailed for Great Sale Cay where we anchored and spent the first night. From there to Fox Town on Great Abaco, Powell Cay (which was quite beautiful, we were the only people moored alongside the island, with three lovely beaches, and where we swam, snorkelled, and walked in the shallow water, spotting barracuda, rays and nursery shark). From there to Guayano Cay, passing Green Turtle Cay on the way, ending at Marsh harbour.

The Bahamas are exceptionally beautiful with shallow aquamarine water, the temperature was about 24 degrees C, and we spent the time drinking Gumbay Smash (rum drink) and on the small settlements we popped into, ate the local dishes in shacks on the beaches, with the Bahamian people being very friendly and open.

A great time was had by all!
